Thank you so much for all who support us in coming and enjoying our special event. We would like to express our gratitude for all of the families who work so tirelessly, without them our Fish Fry would not be possible. We hope to see everyone next year, A special thank you to Heather Sieve who Father so eloquently bestowed a new title "our lady of Lent".

"Jornadas is a young adult group formed by 3 different parishes that includes Saint Cecilia and every lent season they helps us to reflect on social justice issues and how the affect us through the eyes of the main characters in this powerful story of the passion of our Lord. This past Palm Sunday they performed the passion of our Lord during our spanish masses as they have done it in other communities like Saint Gabriel, Saint Clement, etc
We are grateful for their ministry." -

On Sunday September 13th, Father William Vatterott was officially installed as the eighth Pastor of St. Cecilia Parish by Archbishop Carlson. Fr. Vatterott was ordained a priest in 2003 and served at Holy Infant in Ballwin before coming to St. Cecilia in December of 2007. He studied Spanish in Guadalajara, Mexico for five months in preparation for his assignment here. Father’s youth reflects the youth of the parish and his energy and enthusiasm overflow into the pews and classrooms. Renewal and growth of an urban city parish are rare and St. Cecilia parish, school, and academy are blessed to have Fr. Vatterott as our new pastor. May God bless him as he leads our parish!

We recognize the Feast of Saint Jude, that he is the patron saint of desperate cases. Modern societies have made many speedy and major changes, putting human beings under tremendous stress in daily living. People have difficulty handling that stress and come to realize that newness and change and technology do not relieve stress and do not give hope and comfort. Prayer and petition to St. Jude stirs him to help, to provide hope and to provide help no matter how seemingly hopeless is the situation.

See pictures from the recent restoration of St. Cecilia's beautiful stonework in the sanctuary. The project consisted of removing all the old carpet from the sanctuary area, cleaning the black and white marble tile underneath, and fixing many of the areas where tiles had been removed. As you can see in the pictures, much of the altar area had no tiles at all!
Some of the tiles you see in the sanctuary are actually painted on, as you can see in the pictures.
