Other Ways to Give

Tithing – Tithing is the practice, established by God in the Old Testament, of returning 10% of your blessings to God. The tithe was not given based on the needs of the priests, of the Church, or of the poor. It was given simply in recognition and gratitude for the blessings that God had bestowed on the individual. Thus, every believer had a need to tithe to God.

Money collected through tithing is used for the church's expenses – ordinary items like utilities, building maintenance, and salaries, as well as extraordinary expenses like a new sound system or boiler. Contributed Services – Do you have a company that can assist with painting, printing, heating & cooling, or any other services that may be needed at St. Cecilia? Or perhaps you prefer to offer your personal skills as a gifted carpenter, painter, or gardener and are willing to share your time to complete some much needed tasks around the church, rectory, or school. Your time and talents are very valuable to St. Cecilia. Contact us to find out how you can help.

St. Cecilia Keystone Gift – A keystone is the last stone to be placed at the top of an arch – to fortify that arch and ensure its stability. Keystones are carefully hand-crafted so that each stone meets the exact dimensions needed to complete the arch. No matter how much weight is placed on top of the arch, the entryway unfailingly withstands great pressure and stress.

To fortify our own church community and ensure our stability as a parish, we have created the Keystone Gift. Consider giving a Keystone Gift as a charitable donation in the name of a friend or relative, whether living or deceased.

Matching Gifts Program – Many employers offer Matching Gifts Programs, through which your employer will match your contribution dollar-for-dollar or at a percentage of your gift with a maximum donation cap.

Planned Giving – Although all gifts are planned in one way or another, "planned giving" generally refers to making a gift now while retaining an interest in the donated property, or arranging for a gift that the charity will receive in the future or at the donor's death. This may also be referred to charitable estate planning, or tax-wise giving.

Endowments – An endowment is a fund that remains invested on behalf of St. Cecilia. The principal amount continues to grow through donations, and is never withdrawn or spent, only invested. The income earned through the investments, however, becomes an ongoing source of revenue that increases as the principal in the fund grows.

Fundraisers – St. Cecilia's fundraisers provide wonderful opportunities for you to meet new people while socializing with other parishioners, family, and friends.
